How We Serve

At Mount Sinai Church we aim to follow Jesus Christ and transform lives by extending His love, truth, and compassion. We recognize the value of every person and work with God through established ministries to meet the spiritual and practical needs in our church, our community, and the world.  We strive to empower and encourage every person to live their best life through Jesus Christ. See more below about how we are serving. Our prayer is that you are moved to partner with us in changing one life at a time with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I Shall Recover All.

At Mount Sinai Church we aim to minister to the total man. To help towards this end, throughout the year, funds are collected to adopt families and assist with other needs throughout the year.

Most recently, families are provided with monetary gift cards to use at their discretion. Mount Sinai has provided support to at-risk and homeless single parents ages 16 - 24 years old. Each year our goal is to minister to at least 10 families.

Little Library.

In partnership with One Tiger, Inc., Mount Sinai Church is working to get every child ready to read. We support this effort through our "Little Library" located at the University of Akron, Student Union on the 3rd floor. We provide FREE books to preschool and elementary children. Children can come into our library and retrieve books of their choice in order to build their personal home libraries.

If you would like to learn more about this program or would like to sign your child up, please select “Little Library” on the Welcome Form and someone from our Education Team will contact you with more information.

Loads of Love.

Often the importance of clean laundry is understated in disease prevention. In reality, effective laundry procedures can prevent the spread of diseases like MRSA. There are many in our community who do not have a washer and dryer in their homes. The costs of laundering at a neighborhood facility have increased, thereby making it difficult to maintain personal hygiene practices.

To extend the love of Christ, Mount Sinai Outreach Teams are dispatched to local laundromats to distribute Love Bags. Our Love Bags contain everything needed to wash a load of clothes (including rolls of coins). We have delivered over 100 Love Bags to laundry mat patrons.

Our goal is to donate a washer and dryer set to a family annually.
